WOW!!!

Hello everyone! Just got done with 2 days of Faith Reload Youth Camp 12.0 It was at my old church with my cousin Jeremy and Chandigarh's youth involved. They had been praying for a year for a youth camp like this one, and had been preparing for it from two months earlier.
There was a lot to do on Wednesday and Thursday: getting to church on time, setting up the equipment, making sure the instruments and the singers were being blended correctly, then practicing, making sure the sets of songs were correct... etc ... it went on and on and on and on .. why all these details you ask? It's because I had gone with Jerry to the practices and not just that I got reeled into helping sing backup for a song, playing the guitar, and MC ing... :P (how do I get myself into these things ....hahhahahaahaa)
So on the two days of camp, all the crew members were running around trying to finish up last minute things.. It was so hectic, but when the camp started everything went as the Lord had wanted. :)

With all the songs, activities, message, and prayer it was such a blessing :) The youth did not expect such a turn out, so they were blessed and in awe with how AWESOME our God is!  <3

My Homeland ♥

After flying for 24 hours, lifting my carry-on everywhere (the handle had broke :P), being in contact with a very rude customs person, and being a little lost in the Delhi airport, there was a possibility that we would have to ride a bus for 5 1/2 to 6 hours.  But as soon as we exited the airport I saw my dad and my cousin, Jonu, who I haven't seen in 12 WHOLE years.
It was great!! He looked so different, but still the same Jonu. It only took us 4 hours to reach Chandigarh with Jonu's driving :P When we arrived we were greeted by Joanna, Mamma, Joy, Choti Bua (my dad's younger sister) and my cousin Jerry. Julianna, my other cousin was also there but she was asleep.
We talked about our trip and how we weren't tired. Joanna, my sister, had arrived here earlier with Daddy, Mamma, and our little sister Joy, so she was telling me about her stay at Mumbai, Chennai, and here in Chandigarh. I found out Chennai is very HOT and HUMID! and there is a type of ice cream that tastes   just like   MANGO!! I LOVE MANGO!! Well I just wanted to make sure I updated you all on my arrival :D

God wants to show Himself to you. His awesome presence, His unending love, His gracious
mercy, His powerful strength, His beautiful righteousness. ---- But if you don't stop to smell the ROSES, you'll miss Him!

Trusting in God...

... gives us  the upper hand in our lives. Proverbs 3:5-6 says: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Our circumstances can always get the best of us, but if we trust in Jesus, they can't. Of course, trying to get out of those circumstances, or overcoming them by ourselves can cause a bit of a mess. We try to get out but it just makes things messier and  messier. God's knowledge is far beyond our understanding like it says in Isaiah 55:9. He will take care of us, all we have to do is trust in Him and walk by faith.

"Nothing will ever compare to HIS love."

You say this, but God says differently

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. -Hebrews 11:1

The Perfect Life with Jesus

My life is perfect... hahahhaa... Ok, let's be real. My life is not perfect. I have hardships, problems, issues, all of the above, and your life probably isn't perfect either. But the thing is we want it to be. We want our lives to be carefree, ideal, and we're looking for that solution. Jesus, sometimes becomes that solution. When we are so down, and at our lowest, but we find out that Jesus saves us out of that, we are glad. Finally we get the carefree, perfect life... WRONG!!!!
Jesus never promised us a life without problems, He actually gave us a heads-up in Mathew 16 verse 33:
... In the world you will have tribulation; ...
He said that we WILL have problems. Just because we accepted Christ doesn't mean we get a carefree life, but there is more to that verse.
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace... I have overcome the world.
He has overcome this world, with all its problems, issues, trials, tribulations, hardships, all the above. That means that in this life of ours, when we accept Christ, we have the ultimate Guide. He has overcome this world and everything that comes with it. Our lives' problems are easy peasy for someone like Him. He knows every step, every turn, every nook and cranny to bring us through this life. Don't be afraid to hand your life to Him because God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). If I may, I want to say that our lives are perfect with Jesus because when we lay our problems down at His feet, He takes care of them. Our problems may be BIG, but our God is BIGGER.

Jeremiah 31:3

God's Timing

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. -2 Corinthians 4:17

Sometimes God delays some good things because He wants us to feel the utmost joy. Now of course God is ALWAYS on time. His timing is never early and never late, but being human, we can't help but have our own plans, and when things don't happen in that time, it's late. God has everything planned perfectly.
For example, these past few days we were supposed to have warm weather, but unfortunately there was rain and fog which in turn made the weather a little chilly. Us having the anticipation of warm weather were disappointed when we had to wear our coats, scarfs, and hats. BUT, today we had wonderful warm weather. It was sooo beautiful outside. There was no need for a scarf or a coat, and the roads were so visibly clear. I was so thankful for today.
Another example involves my sister. My sister, Jenny, loves United Pursuit. She found out that they were coming to Athens, and that it was free! She was soo psyched! All she had to do was get a ticket, because the facility only had a certain amount of seats. So when she went to get a ticket, she was so disheartened when it said 'SOLD OUT!' When her roommate, Amber, found out, she told her to write on the Facebook wall and ask if anyone had an extra ticket. My sister told her that that was dumb, nobody would have an extra ticket, and that she didn't want to do it. So while my sister was out of sorts, Amber decided to post it anyway. Twenty minutes later, her friend, Alan, calls her and they start talking. Since Jenny was only able to hear one side of the conversation, she was so confused when Amber's answers were 'REALLY!', 'no way', and 'I think you should tell her.' With that she handed the phone to Jenny, and Alan tells her that he has an extra ticket! Can you imagine how happy she was. She told me she was so happy that she almost started crying, almost.
So you see how God works. He knows what makes your heart happy. He knows you inside out. He knows the frame of your life; He's known you from when you were in your mother's womb. Live with the promise in Jeremiah 29:11, where God says, "I will bless you with a future filled with hope---a future of success, not of suffering."
Jeremiah 29:11

Things to Remember

There are ten things God wants you to remember:
I am for you.
I love you.
I BELIEVE IN YOU.
I will not fail you.
I will be with you.
I will provide for you.
I WILL BLESS YOU.
I will give you rest.
I will strengthen you.
I WILL ANSWER YOU.

Friday, January 20, 2012

You will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Deuteronomy 4:29 (NKJV)

If Adam knew God as a beloved Father,
if Eve knew Him as the original Homemaker,
if Noah knew Him as the Refuge from the storm,
if Abraham knew Him as a Friend,
if Moses knew Him as the Redeemer,
if Rahab knew Him as the gracious Savior,if David knew Him as his Shepherd,
if Elijah knew Him as the Almighty,
if Daniel knew Him as the Lion Tamer,
if Mary Magdalene knew Him as the Bondage Breaker,
if Martha knew Him as the Promise Keeper,
if Lazarus knew Him as the Resurrection and the Life,
if Bartimaeus knew Him as the Light of the World,
if John knew Him as the glorious King upon the throne,
surely you and I can know Him too!

That sly devil

Well right now, I want to become closer to God. I just want more of Him. And of course the devil doesn't want that, but no worries, he thinks I'm not going to get far. But imagine what he was thinking when he finds out that my family as a whole wants to get closer to God, and not just them, my church as well. Imagine all those people on one page, and having a burning desire to get closer to God. Wooowie... that devil sure is trembling in his boots, but he's going to try his hardest and try break our determination, and ... that is what he almost did.

Never once in my life has my family gone through a situation where the children were not on the same page as the parents. Not once had it been where one of us just didn't feel loved. But we had that situation, we were just not on the same page. I thought it was one of those disagreements that would just go away if we all slept on it, but no I was wrong. I mean it went on for days, and it brought hurt and anger. And I started questioning my desire to want more of God asking, "How can we act like this when we are all trying to get closer to God?" This is exactly what the devil wants.

That devil is soooo sly that he used us, against each other. He's so cunning! Why use someone we don't know to cause trouble, when he can use us to do it ourselves? I know that 'he is like a lion seeking those whom he may devour' (1 Peter 5:8), where you know he is there; but I forget he was a snake first, where he is sneaky and you can't actually notice him until he's ready to strike. He will never come and attack us as a devil who is dressed up in black, with two red horns and smoke coming of his being, but as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). But let me tell you something, God was with us through out this whole ordeal. I tried to fix it myself, but I thought it was impossible, but as you may know 'with God ALL things are possible' (Mathew 19:26). God pulled us through that trial, and we as a family are stronger than ever in Christ!

I just can't begin to explain how much God loves His people. I feel like all these posts are about His love for us which leads to His provision, His protection, His wisdom, and MANY more. We are God's people, and He cares for us so much, that I know Satan had to ask God's permission in order to entangle us in his web. WOOHOO!! I pray that I continue to live in God's love, and if I forget God will always be there to remind me. :)

♪This is the day that the Lord has made♪

I loved that song! ☺ It was my favorite. Every time we sung that song in a church service or a prayer meeting, I would belt it out like there was no tomorrow.. hahahahaa... I mean it was so catchy and so much fun to sing because everyone around me was happy and smiling. It had a nice feeling, but that was when my mind was child like and simple. But as I grew up, it wasn't my favorite because it was such an old tune. It became an old song for me. I still liked it, but when I started listening to the lyrics that said:
♪This is the day. This is the day, that the Lord has made. That the Lord has made. We will rejoice. We will rejoice, and be glad in it. And be glad in it. This is the day, that the Lord has made. We will rejoice, and be glad in it. This is the day, this is the day, that the Looorrd haaaas maaade.♪ (Psalms 118:24)
I didn't understand. Ok, so the first part is not that hard but the second part is a bit of a tough-ee. I know the Lord has made this day, but how can I always be glad in it? What if it comes with so many issues? How can I face that day with a smile? But then through today's devotional Jesus said, "You can be glad in it because I am with you, and when you stick with Me, you can overcome the day." Isn't that AWESOME?? Yes it is! :) Now I understand why all those people at those church services and prayer meetings were smiling from ear to ear. It wasn't the great beat, but the meaning behind the words. Now this song means so much more to me; I can sing it with a meaningful smile.

Just like the previous devotional, God wants us to live in His peace. He doesn't want us to 'be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus' (Philippians 4:6-7). Have hope in the promise God has given us:
I shall supply all your need according to My riches in glory by My Son, Jesus Christ. (Philippians 4:19)

Problems, problems, problems

This world has all sorts of problems: big problems, small problems, math problems, science problems, etc. The one area that has plenty of problems is LIFE. Yup, my life as well comes with its share of problems. Some of them I can handle, but some I can't. I mean problems itself cause frustration, anxiety, and stress, but trying to solve a difficult problem and it not working out the way I want, causes me to be more anxious, frustrated, and stressed. I focus so much on my problems that in the whole process I lose sight of God. I sometimes remind myself of Peter when he's caught in the storm with the disciples, and they see Jesus walking on water. Then Peter asks to walk on water well...
but when he saw hat the wind was boisterous, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!"
Sometimes I get so caught up that I feel like I'm getting sucked into the problems and I'm drowning, but it says in Joshua 1 verse 5 and 9 says:
...as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
I have to realize God knows everything about me, even the problems that I'll be facing in the day. Through it all He will be with me. He will see me through, which is so refreshing. He even clearly says in Mathew 11:28-30:
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
He loves us so much that He calls us to Him and invites us to take rest in Him. He cares for us. Jesus reminds us that He will always be with us. Once we focus on Him and not our problems we can experience His perfect peace. Philippians 4 verse 7 says:
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

On a whim...with God

My family, friends and I are planning to go to India for a missions trip, God-willing. So of course we need funds to buy the tickets. So one day I had this urge to go outside a store and sing while leaving my guitar case open, as a way to raise funds.

So I was planning to go to a Kroger that was near my house, but instead I was pulled towards Books for Less. After asking the nice clerk that was working there (I wish I had asked his name), I stood outside singing for about four hours, and I can't tell you how surprised I was. I mean I had a good feeling to start with, but with all the people that donated it reaffirmed my feeling :) I got $28 and some cents. :D Then I went the day after that and did the same thing for another four hours with a sign saying what I was doing out there, and what I'll be doing in India. When I went home and counted what was in the guitar case, I had $48 and some cents.

Right now I have $77 and some cents in my general fund! God is so good! I also, wanted to thank all those who had donated for this :)

I'll be posting where I'll be going next. Please come by and say hi, or just come for the music :P

~ God truly is my Guide ~

I didn't have such a great day at work yesterday. I was doing accounting, and I was just so far behind; continuously on my feet, trying to figure out what all that was wrong with some things missing. I didn't know what to expect or how long I was going to be there. I was so stressed, but with all that was wrong I was able to finish it all in time. It would be nice if I finished it all, but God was with me through it ALL. I was stressed, but He still allowed me to focus on the job and what to do next. I could not have done it myself. Sure I say I can work better under pressure, but it wouldn't be true if God wasn't with me every step of the way. Cheering me on, calming me if I feel overwhelmed, and giving me relief when it's all done.

"God thank You for being with me!"

Today's devotional was perfect for me, so I decided to post it exactly. I pray that you are blessed as well. Remember God is with us through the thick and thin. He will never leave us.
Try to view each day as an adventure, carefully planned out by your Guide. Instead of staring into the day that is ahead of you, attempting to program it according to your will, be attentive to Me and to all I have prepared for you. Thank Me for this day of life, recognizing that it is a precious, unrepeatable gift. Trust that I am with you each moment, whether you sense My Presence or not. A thankful, trusting attitude helps you to see events in your life from My perspective.
A life lived close to Me will never be dull or predictable. Expect each day to contain surprises! Resist you tendency to search for the easiest route through the day, Be willing to follow wherever I lead. No matter how steep or treacherous the path before you, the safest place to be is by My side.

"God, thank You for making my hard life a happy life, allowing me to enjoy the sights!"

Road maps

▲ Keep straight on the road of your life           18yrs

$Pay for the twins to go to college   19yrs
╦ You lose your husband to a heart attack     4yrs
╬ You retire happy      7yrs
O MAN, what I would give to get my hands on this road map! It seems like that game LIFE. I wish my life was like this, so finely written down with every turn, every bump, every road block, leading me along this windy road of my life. Every day I ask God, "Please Lord, I know that You have my life all planned out, but can I at least know what's coming next?" Any time I'm anxious about something, or some big decision is coming up, I always find myself asking Him this question. But in Exodus 33:14 says:
And He said, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."
God didn't promise me that He would give me my road map, but He promised me that He has a plan for me (Jer 29:11) and He would always be with me (Heb 13:5); all I need to do is trust in Him. He sent the Holy Spirit for me, to guide me, and set my mind to rest. To put it to ease. God's promises are so great! Also, in John 15:4-7 says:
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." (NKJV)
As I am joined with Christ, and He is joined with me, I will not fear. His desires become my desires, and what I ask He will let it come to pass. God knows my life's road map forwards, backwards, inside out, and outside in; He equips my heart, mind, and soul for the day ahead. Everything I need for that coming day He readies me. I think I'll just leave that map in His capable hands because knowing me I would most likely still mess something up even with my life's map in front of me. :P

"God, continue to ready me for the days ahead of me. In Your Mighty Son's name I ask, AMEN."

Be still...

...and know that I am God;
Psalms 46:10
Do you want more of God's kindness and peace? Then learn to know Him better and better. For as you know Him better, He will give you, through His great power, everything you need for living a truly good life: He even shares His own glory and His own goodness with us! And by that same power He has given us all the other rich and wonderful blessings He promised; for instance, the promise to save us from the lust and rottenness all around us, and to give us His own character.
2 Peter 1:2-4 (The Living Bible)
We must just let go and know that He is God, but the only way we can do that is if we get to know Him better, and the way to do that would be to communicate with Him, talk to Him, or interact with Him. That's a lot of steps.. :P
  1. Talk to God. Communicate with Him. Interact with Him. This will lead you to...
  2. Know Him better, and that would ultimately allow you to...
  3. BE STILL and know that He is GOD!
God wants us to learn more about Him. He wants that intimate relationship with us. He wants us to want Him too, and one of the ways that happens is when we learn a little of Him it fills us with a little more hunger. The more we get to know Him, the more we want to know Him (if that makes sense). God wants our lives to be filled with happiness. When things go right, life is good. When things go wrong, and God pulls us through, life is still good. :)
Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
Colossians 4:2
When we have something that has been bothering us, or we need help with something, we must tell the Lord, and thank Him for it. Because once we tell Him, He has already set the answer in motion. We just let Him know what's up, and He let's things roll into place. We might feel anxious because we don't see the answer right away. Don't worry when that happens, all we need to do is say: "Thank You, God for setting things in motion." Once we do this, and let go and know that He is God, life is good again. :D

What can flesh do to me?

Psalms 56:3-4
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?
Mathew 6:20-21
but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Flesh can do NOTHING to us, not if we trust in the Lord. Sure, life comes with situations that trouble us, but we must put our trust in the Lord. But God doesn't want us to just trust Him in the hard times, NO! God wants us to trust Him through the little things as well.
Us being humans, we usually learn things through practice. So when God wants us to trust Him in everything, He means not only the BIG but also the small. Just think it through, once we can put our trust in Jesus through the littlest of things, when the big problems come around we won't want to do anything else but trust in Jesus. We must learn to put our trust in Him in EVERYTHING.
Jesus doesn't just stay on the throne until we're in trouble, and then He comes to save us. No, Jesus is with us till the end of the age (Mathew 28:20). He is with me right now as I write this blog. He is with you right now as you read this post. He is with us wherever we are and in whatever we do. He knows when we'll need Him, and He comes to our rescue. He is our very present help in trouble (Psalms 46:1).
God wants us to learn to trust in Him. The Bible is filled with many verses about trust, here are a couple.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Once we put our trust in the Lord, we don't need to figure much out. As we lean on Jesus, He will open up our minds with the correct way to walk down in order to get past that problem.
Hebrews 13:5-6
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we may boldly say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
When we go through problems we wonder why others are having such a carefree life. We must focus on trusting that God has a different plan for us; that He has the best in plan for us.
Let us learn to trust in God in everything. This practice will help us find peace in Him.

If God is for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Psalms 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried in to the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling.
Luke 1:37
For with God nothing will be impossible.
God loves us so much that apart from giving His Son's life for us (which is HUGE!), He does so much more to show His love.
He is Emmanuel, God with us. Sometimes we read that and say "Yes, He is with us", but when we're in a bind that verse seems so far away. He is with us EVERY step of the way, no matter where we are; whether we "ascend to heaven" or whether we "make our bed in hell" (Ps. 139:8) HE IS THERE! As we go through our life, we will definitely go through difficulties like school grades, college decisions, the right choice in life partner, parenting your children, or the loss of someone you dearly love. Of course life isn't filled with just these situations, we also come face to face with life's other situations such as: problems with friends, parents, or co-workers. God is with us through all these storms in our lives.
We try to plan our lives with our own timing in mind and get stressed out when things don't happen according to that time line. But we have to remember that God has our lives planned according to His timing. Once we come to terms with that fact all that stress melts away. Imagine a stress-free life.... AMAZING! We can have it, once we just leave our worries in God's hands. He is our very-present help in trouble. God has our backs, what more can we ask for?
Psalms 139 is a song of reassurance. I urge you all to read it and keep it hidden in your hearts because if you ever feel like you're between a rock and a hard place this song will remind where you are really, which is in Jesus' hand.

You walk on waves,
You run with clouds,
You paint the skies for me to see,
Your Majesty, Your Majesty is why I sing

God: my Hope

My God is a God of Hope. He encourages me everyday; with the rising of the sun, the singing of the birds, and with the beauty of the skies. The hope that He gives me is like a golden rope that is attached to Him. The harder I hold on to that rope, or the ray of Hope, the heavier Jesus bears my burdens, and the lighter I feel. He doesn't want me to fall into depression or self-pity. But even when I am down He comes to me with such gentleness and kindness. Jesus wants to lift me. He is my everlasting Hope :)
Psalms 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Romans 12:12
rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.
Romans 15:13
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Year 2012!!

WOW!! This year has started with a BANG!! God has shown just a glimpse of Himself and now I want more of Him! The hunger and thirst I was longing for is now very present in me. I can feel the desire to know Him more ooze (with a lack of better word) out of me :p

I know today is not the first day of the year, but I got this sudden urge to blog and share with you guys all that God is doing in me now and what He will be doing. Right now, I'm reading a daily devotional called Jesus Calling. Each day comes with a devotional that is read as if Jesus is talking to you. It's pretty cool! I thought I could share those devotionals with each of you. So that each day you could take out a little time and just be blessed.

Also, since this is my first time blogging, I pray that you all can bear with me :P I hope you'll be BLESSED!
