God's Timing

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. -2 Corinthians 4:17

Sometimes God delays some good things because He wants us to feel the utmost joy. Now of course God is ALWAYS on time. His timing is never early and never late, but being human, we can't help but have our own plans, and when things don't happen in that time, it's late. God has everything planned perfectly.
For example, these past few days we were supposed to have warm weather, but unfortunately there was rain and fog which in turn made the weather a little chilly. Us having the anticipation of warm weather were disappointed when we had to wear our coats, scarfs, and hats. BUT, today we had wonderful warm weather. It was sooo beautiful outside. There was no need for a scarf or a coat, and the roads were so visibly clear. I was so thankful for today.
Another example involves my sister. My sister, Jenny, loves United Pursuit. She found out that they were coming to Athens, and that it was free! She was soo psyched! All she had to do was get a ticket, because the facility only had a certain amount of seats. So when she went to get a ticket, she was so disheartened when it said 'SOLD OUT!' When her roommate, Amber, found out, she told her to write on the Facebook wall and ask if anyone had an extra ticket. My sister told her that that was dumb, nobody would have an extra ticket, and that she didn't want to do it. So while my sister was out of sorts, Amber decided to post it anyway. Twenty minutes later, her friend, Alan, calls her and they start talking. Since Jenny was only able to hear one side of the conversation, she was so confused when Amber's answers were 'REALLY!', 'no way', and 'I think you should tell her.' With that she handed the phone to Jenny, and Alan tells her that he has an extra ticket! Can you imagine how happy she was. She told me she was so happy that she almost started crying, almost.
So you see how God works. He knows what makes your heart happy. He knows you inside out. He knows the frame of your life; He's known you from when you were in your mother's womb. Live with the promise in Jeremiah 29:11, where God says, "I will bless you with a future filled with hope---a future of success, not of suffering."
